If our family has a motto, it is this:

Sojourn on!

My husband and I met at a summer camp in Wisconsin. One of the jobs we enjoyed together was planning travel outings for kids.  I literally fell for him while biking, hiking, canoeing and camping. We were married in 1997 and continued traveling together, sharing a love of the natural world. Our kids grew up at the camps where we worked and also took frequent trips with us.

In 2014, Mike was diagnosed with a form of ALS, a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. He gradually lost the use of his legs, and by 2018 he used a wheelchair daily. But we never stopped traveling, and as his needs changed, we adapted our sojourns to fit the new circumstances.

Unfortunately Mike passed away in 2020, but his spirit lives on in our family and in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to work and camp with him for years.

The purpose of this website is to share our sojourns, and to continue to provide information to other families who want to have exciting and wonderful, adaptive outdoor adventures. Welcome, and Sojourn On!
